Jim Chin


Jim Chin, L Company 1-186 41st Infantry Division. Jim Chin was the only Chinese and there was one Japanese in the unit prior to WWII. After the 41st was activated, the Japanese soldier disappeared probably due to the Japanese Internment and Jim Chin deployed with his unit. He suffered a lot of discrimination, but his commanding officer noticed and pulled him out of his unit to have him work on General MacArthur's security detail for the rest of the war.
