Pictured here is one of the B-26 crews that took part in the mass "softening up" attack on Communist positions along the Imjin River in Korea, as a preliminary to the para-drop of airborne troops March 23, 1951. The 5th Air Force's 3rd Bomb Wing's light bombers carried out their usual attack mission throughout the night, and then mounted a 24-plane armada to provide the close support described by Lieutenant General Matthew B. Ridgeway, 8th Army Commander, as "the best I've ever seen"
