Korean War Series356
These Okinawa-based B-29 "Superforts" run up their engines prior to taking off on another mission against Communist transportation or supply targets in North Korea. Although the planes sometimes take off before dark, as they did here, the bombing attacks are usually made during hours of darkness. A surprise daylight attack was made by the big bombers on September 19, 1952, the first such attack in 11 months.
